Dead in the Family by Charlaine Harris

I have a short list of authors that are an automatic buy as soon as they hit the shelves. Charlaine Harris is one of them. And let me say it has been a long year between books.

After enduring torture and the loss of loved ones during the brief but deadly Faery War, Sookie Stackhouse is hurt and she's angry. Just about the only bright spot in her life is the love she thinks she feels for vampire Eric Northman. But he's under scrutiny by the new Vampire King because of their relationship. And as the political implications of the Shifters coming out are beginning to be felt, Sookie's connection to the Shreveport pack draws her into the debate. Worst of all, though the door to Faery has been closed, there are still some Fae on the human side-and one of them is angry at Sookie. Very, very angry...

I love Sookie. She is quirky and fun and won't take no bad language said in her presence(something I find entertaining). Pretty much everyone is back in this book, it's always nice to catch up on familiar faces. I won't get too into the plot, lets just say: the were's have issues, the vamps have issues, and Sookie is trying to work through her issues.

My favorite part of this book is the time we get to spend with a certain young man, yes we get to spend time with Hunter. My favorite character from this book is Claude. Normally he is rude and self absorbed, but in this book we get to see another side. Although, I wouldn't mind seeing any side of Claude.

All together it was an enjoyable book. I have to say I love Eric and Sookie together and can only hope it lasts.
And now the long wait begins.
